Send Free SMS Text Messages via Email

Instructions for sending free SMS (Short Message Services) text messages to a cell phone from your email.

You will need the phone number as well as the mobile service provider of the person you wish to text message.

Open your computer's email program and go to this list of carriers currently providing SMS transit (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_carriers_providing_SMS_transit) and find the recipients cell phone service provider.

Go back to your email account and write the text message you wish to send

In the Email “To:” section write for example, number@txt.att.net, as 222222@txt.att.net with the area code

Fill in the Email “Subject:” section with anything you like and write the content of the message in the normal email content area.

Click “Send”.
