Windows Live Groups Replaces MSN Chat RoomsBy Chatrooms.NET - 2009-11-09
In late 2008 Microsoft announced the availability of a number of new and updated online applications in its Windows Live suite: Windows Live Photos, Profiles, People, and Groups. In addition, Microsoft also announced that it will allow its users to integrate content from a large number third-party services, including Flickr, LinkedIn, Pandora, Photobucket, StumbleUpon, TripIt, Twitter, and Yelp. Windows Live Groups is an online service by Microsoft as part of its Windows Live range of services that enable users to create their social groups for sharing, discussion and coordination. Windows Live Groups was released on December 2, 2008. MSN Groups, a similar offering from Microsoft, was discontinued in February, 2009. Windows groups are a way to stay in touch with people, have discussions or promote a business. groups are easy to create and contain all the capabilities that MSN chat rooms had. Share photos, start discussions, send e-mail, or IM with the whole group at once. To join or create a Windows Live Group you need a Windows Live ID, if you have a Hotmail, MSN Messenger, or Xbox LIVE account, you already have a Windows Live ID.
