Bipolar World is a privately owned website and is operated by volunteers, which includes the owners and partners, that strive to offer concise and verifiable information about Bipolar Disorder.

Bipolar Disorder is a mental disorder of mood. Swings from the depths of depression to the heights of mania are the hallmarks of this illness.

The goal of the Bipolar World community is the comfort and safety of all who choose to participate, snd you must be 18 or older to enter their chat rooms.

Bipolar World now has two peer to peer chat rooms open with the support chat being available 24 hours a day with moderated chats every evening from 8 pm - 11 pm EST, and additional hours when operators are available. The Bipolar support chat is a room for discussion of bipolar disorder and sharing the empathy and support that only one bipolar can feel for another.

The Lounge Chat room is also available 24 hours per day and will be moderated when operators are available. Lounge Chat is a place to meet with bipolar friends (or meet new friends) to chat and discuss your day, and is meant to be enjoyed on a more light hearted basis.

For difficult or trigger topics such as self-injury, abuse, alcohol, etc. private message the chat operator and let them know you would like to be able to discuss a particular topic. The chat operator can then poll the room and determine if it's okay.
