The Graham Norton Show is a TV comedy chat show broadcast on BBC One in the United Kingdom. It was originally shown on BBC Two from February 2007 to May 2009 until it moved to BBC One from October 2009. Presented by Irish comedian Graham Norton, the show's format is somewhat similar to his previous Channel 4 programmes, V Graham Norton and So Graham Norton, both of which were also produced by SO Television.

The mischievous irish comedian, Graham Norton, returns next week to DStv's BBC Entertainment with a fifth series of his popular The Graham Norton Show, to be seen at 9.30pm on Wednesdays.

The award-winning chat show host fills each episode with chat, comedy, celebrity gossip, and general fun.

The first series began at 10 pm on 22 February 2007 on BBC Two and was originally slated to end on 24 May 2007 after 13 episodes. However, the series proved such a hit that it was extended for an additional six episodes.

Some of the celebrities joining Graham in the new series five will include Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York; and Irish standup comedian Ed Byrne, as well as Academy Award-nominated actor Greg Kinnear and Gavin & Stacey star Ruth Jones.

At the end of each chat show, Norton introduces contemporary music acts. Among others, this new series will feature musical contributions from Lily Allen, Pet Shop Boys, Sinead O'Connor and actress-turned-rock star Juliette Lewis.

Graham Norton was born in Clondalkin, a suburb of Dublin but grew up in Bandon, County Cork, Ireland. After his early success, Norton moved to Channel 4 to host his own chat shows including So Graham Norton and V Graham Norton. In 2003, he was listed in The Observer as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy (though Norton is Irish, the bulk of his television career has been in the UK).

In 2005, Norton moved to the BBC and began hosting the Saturday evening reality TV series Strictly Dance Fever as well as Graham Norton's Bigger Picture. He also read stories some nights on the BBC children's channel CBeebies as part of Bedtime Hour.

Norton is openly gay. He had a five year relationship with American writer Scott Michaels of Dearly Departed Tours in Hollywood. In 2002 Norton had a relationship with Mr Gay UK Carl Austin.

After hosting the BAFTAs in 2009, Norton returned home only to fall down his stairs and break two ribs. Norton also suffers from vitiligo, a rare skin disease.

In America, cablechannel BBC America broadcasts the shows regularly several times a week.

In Ireland, Series 3 began its run on TV3 Ireland on 4 July 2008 at 9:00 pm, in Australia on ABC2 & The Comedy Channel, in New Zealand on UKTV and TVOne, and in Norway on TV Norge.

In Brazil, the show is broadcast by VH1 Brasil once a week.
