Posh Spice Gets Chat Show Guest Slot

The former Spice Girl will join actresses Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd, and broadcaster Barbara Walters as a guest co-host on the ABC show, a live programme similar to Loose Women.

Since the Spice Girls followed separate careers, she has dabbled in pop music, scoring four UK Top 10 singles as a solo artist. Her first single to be released, "Out of Your Mind", reached number two in the UK Singles Chart and is her highest chart entry to date. During her solo music career she has been signed to Virgin Records and Telstar Records.

A spokesman for Victoria said the fashion designer was excited about returning to the show as a host. Posh Spice also appeared on The View as a guest in September last year.

Her appearance is scheduled for February 17 and comes after a guest judging spot alongside Simon Cowell on American Idol.

"She had a lot of fun last time she was on the show, it's a real 'girlie' environment, the hosts are all strong, intelligent women who she respects and admires, and she is looking forward to returning to the show in a few weeks," the spokesman said.

During her rise to fame with 1990's pop group the Spice Girls, Beckham was dubbed Posh Spice, a nickname first coined by the British pop music magazine, Top of the Pops, in their July, 1996, issue.
