Fring and Skype Mobile Video Calls on Cell Phone

Just after releasing the Android version Fring have now announced the arrival of the world’s first mobile video calls online.

People using Fring can now make and receive internet video calls from mobile devices all for free allowing you to pick up your Fring and Skype video calls from the road, and see the person you’re talking to from your cell phone.

Fring video is now available and supported on Nokia touch (such as X6, N97 mini,N97, 5800), N95, N95 8G and N82 devices and cell phones. The client can now also support Skype video calls on symbian mobile. Another application that supports video calls, but does not always work, is called OctroTalk.

Video phone chat on other popular platforms are coming very soon.

The official Skype application for iPhone has been available for quite some time but it does not provide VOIP over 3G and needs a WiFi to be used instead.

Now iPhone fring users can call, video call, chat and more for FREE over 3G and wifi. The Fring application has its own limitations though as the application cannot make iPhone to iPhone VOIP calls over skype. The only calls allowed are PC to iPhone. Another major limitation is the one-way video chat. The iPhone user can see the PC caller through the webcams, but the opposite dosen’t hold.

Even with its limitations, the Fring would at least compell Skype to bring a 3G VOIP for its iPhone application. For now, the Fring application can be downloaded from AppStore for Free. Existing users do not need a version update. Just select Skype from Fring Add-ons and you are good to go.

NOTE: Android device users can now get onto fring with free VoIP calls over Skype, MSN and GoogleTalk and via hundreds of SIP providers. You can see real-time presence and live chat with your ICQ, Yahoo! And AIM buddies. You can also use Twitter as part of your integrated contact list.
