AddonChat v9.0 Beta Release with User Profiles System

AddonChat v9.0 Beta is now online and they are inviting you to try the new version before its final release.

Improved User Interface:

We've added a selectable Look & Feel option to the control panel, including the new Nimbus look and feel which provides a much more modern look and feel.

Focusing in on both aesthetics and ease of use, we've completely rebuilt the user list! We're certain that your users will find the new user list powerful and intuitive.

New Modules:

Expand your chat community with a full featured Profile System which enables your users to set up their own profile and view other users' profiles.

Watch your chat room's transcripts (logs) in real-time using the new Real Time Logs Module.

Bug Fixes, Copy & Paste Issues Addressed

We've addressed hundreds of minor issues and several larger issues in AddonChat v9.0, including the recent copy & paste issues. AddonChat v9.0 now supports inter-application copy and paste in both the signed and unsigned copies.

New: Digitally Signed Applet & JNLP support

AddonChat now provides you with the option of using a digitally signed applet. Our digitally signed code ensures authenticity and allows AddonChat to run in a less restricted environment. The digitally signed applet is required when embedding third party images in your chat room, or using the Profile System's Image URL feature. Many features we have planned for future releases will also require the use of the digitally signed applet.

AddonChat v9.0 also introduces support for JNLP; the new Java launch platform. JNLP ensures that AddonChat is launched in the same manner on all platforms, regardless of which browser is in use. It also provides the ability for the chat room to "detach" from the browser window. In fact, we've rewritten the Float & Dock feature to use the new JNLP detach feature allowing your users to continue surfing on their browser while they chat.

Performance Improvements:

We've invested a great deal of energy optimizing AddonChat for even better performance. AddonChat v9.0 has been rigorously tested and profiled on dozens of popular platforms.

In addition to chat client performance improvements, version 9.0 introduces major server-level updates designed to improve performance in high load conditions with thousands of concurrent users.
