Ventrilo 3.0.0 is the next evolutionary step of Voice over IP (VoIP) group communications software.

Ventrilo is best known for it's superior sound quality and minimal use of CPU resources so as not to interfere with day to day operations of the computer or during online game competitions. It is also preferred for the simple user interface that any first time computer user can very quickly learn.

By offering surround sound positioning and special sound effects on a per user, per channel, per server or global configuration level the program provides each user the option to fully customize exactly how they wish to hear sounds from other users or events.

Ventrilo is comprised of:

Server: This is what all clients must connect to in order to communicate with other people.

Client: This is what most people will download and use and is the primary user interface.

Public version: The public version of the Ventrilo 3.0 server can be used without a license fee, so long as you abide by the terms of the LICENSE.

Pro version: The Pro version of the Ventrilo server can not be downloaded. It requires that Ventrilo accept your application and that you sign and return the Ventrilo license. However, they do not license everyone who applies, for example individuals or businesses who wish only to run one or two standalone servers. In these cases you will need to rent a server from one of their official licensees.
